We are a membership-based volunteer organization, run for and by members. All of our members work in the Alberta, Canada sewn products industry. Innovation and entrepreneurial leadership are fostered and encouraged through a network of industry professionals.

We're dedicated to tapping into the potential of individuals and organizations in the Alberta, Canada sewn products industry. By providing an extensive network for the exchange of ideas, intelligence and resources, we can create growth and elevate Alberta's profile and competitiveness in the North American and global market. Our vision is to create an international market preference for Alberta-made textiles through the dedication and creativity of our members, the key players in the Alberta wearables industry.

Overall Focus is to:

Raised awareness and cooperation will encourage partnerships within the industry and related industries, ultimately growing businesses and the textiles market. A focus on the training of unskilled textile employees with industry specific skills for Alberta based manufacturers and designers will improve the quality of products generated and create new business growth and opportunity. We also work towards improving work environment standards through peer evaluation and the Canadian Workmen's Compensation initiatives.

Industry Overview

Apparel manufacturing is Alberta's second largest consumer products industry representing $1.2 billion in annual revenues industry wide, of which the U.S.A. accounts for 93% of Alberta's international exports. Manufacturing revenues are at $200 million including exports, with more than 40,000 people employed. The Alberta garment industry has witnessed the most rapid growth of any value-added product commodity exported from Alberta between 1989-1994. The Alberta clothing industry focuses on producing outerwear/skiwear, industrial uniforms, corporate/specialty wear, children's wear, and high fashion products for domestic and export markets. Alberta's producers are flexible and ideally suited to serve upscale, high fashion and specialty markets, and small domestic markets.
